Los Van Van will be presented in San Francisco, New York and Washington at the end of June

Cuban orchestra Los Van Van will be presented later this month in San Francisco, New York and Washington, as part of the US tour that began in May.

The concerts, with tickets that range between 18 and 40 dollars, are part of their celebrating 50th anniversary of the orchestra, founded in 1969 by Juan Formell, and which was left to his son Samuell after his death.

In Washington, they will play in The Howard Theater on June 27, and in San Francisco and New York, on the 23rd and 26th respectively. On June 29, they will offer a second concert in New York, at Saratoga Springs.

Although Van Van’s tour of the United States was already announced a few months ago, these presentations will take place in the midst of the controversy generated by the bill presented by the mayor of Miami in which he asks the Congress of the United States the elimination of the cultural exchange with Cuba, and after the strong criticisms that generated the concert of the orchestra in that city, in which they filled and filled with dollars the Study 60.

The criticism of the aforementioned presentation came about because Van Van was among the representatives of Cuban culture who joined the #YoVotoSí campaign, in favor of the constitutional reform, which among many other rights attacked those of the artists.

They also participated in the so-called Concerts for the Nation to support the Yes in the constitutional referendum.
